Day 1: Arrival - Siem Reap
After getting picked up in Siem Reap airport by our local guide and driver, you will be transferred to the hotel (The room will be ready to serve you). Make the best of your time discovering this area on your own.
Day 2: Siem Reap - Small Circuit - Angkor Wat Tours
Breakfast at hotel, this morning visit will focus on the small circuit including Prasat Kravan, Banteay Kdei, Srah Srang, Ta Prohm, Takeo, Thommanon, and Chau Say Tevoda. This tranquil town was once the capital of the powerful Khmer Empire Afternoon from 802 AD to 1350 AD. This afternoon, you will get the first-hand experience in seeing one of the greatest masterpieces of Cambodia, Angkor Wat.
Its grand scale, perfection in composition, balance, and incredible detail make Angkor Wat an awe-inspiring temple and the ultimate expression of Khmer genius. Apart from discovering this prime example of ancient Khmer art and architecture, tourists will have chances to take in the breathtaking sunset from the top of Phnom Bakheng Hills.
Tonight your dinner will be accompanied with a fantastic show performed by classical Apsara dancers depicting scenes from Khmer mythology. Tonight you will stay in Siem Reap.
Day 3: Siem Reap - Angkor Thom - Banteay Srei Temple
After your breakfast at the hotel, you will be accompanied to Angkor Thom - the great city of the ancient Khmer empire. This short visit will take you to pass the South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphoun, Elephant Terrace and Leper King Terrace.
In the afternoon, there is time for you to explore the intricately carved and well preserved Banteay Srei Temple, which is reached after we drive out of the town beyond the Angkor Complex through the Preah Dark village. Day 4: Siem Reap - Tonle Sap Lake - Phnom Penh by Domestic Flight
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel, afterward, a scenic boat trip will take you to the renowned Tonle Sap Lake which boasts the largest natural freshwater body in Southeast Asia and flows into the Tonle Sap River. The traditional boat will cruise us along a small river towards the gigantesque lake. While you are on the boat, take your leisure time to marvel at the floating village, discover local lifestyle, mingle with friendly children and fishermen pulling in morning.
Afternoon, you will be brought to the airport for departure flight to Phnom Penh. The local guide will be waiting for you there and take you to the hotel for check-in. Next, visit the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh which is beautifully nestled near the confluence of the Mekong and Tonle Sap Rivers. Although this riverside town has experienced a turbulent history, it still boasts significant beauty. The city tour will bring us to top Phnom Penh attractions. The private quarters of the Royal Palace are now home to the royal family and therefore are very close to the public. This short visit will also introduce you to Silver pagoda, which is located in the northern area of the palace grounds. Silver Pagoda is considered the holiest temple in the country and the National Museum. En route, we will trek up to a small hill in order to visit the legendary Wat Phnom, from this point, zoom up your eyes to take in the panoramic view over the surrounding areas.
Day 5: Phnom Penh - City Tours
Our journey will continue after you enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Today we will continue exploring this delightful city with the National Museum, which is exclusively dedicated to Khmer art and sculpture. The majority of the exhibits are from the Angkor period from the 9th to 15th century, but some date from as early as the 4th century. Later, we will make our way to one of the city’s vibrant open markets, Psar Toul Tom Pong; all called the “Russian Market”. At the market, take time to stroll around and see wide arrays of local handicrafts and artifacts.
Today, you will get the first-hand experience in seeing the painful bloody rule of the Khmer Rouge at the Tuol Sleng Prison Museum and the notorious ‘Killing Fields’ of Choeung Ek. This included visit will also take you to the Independent monument and the Victoria monument. Later in the afternoon, you will get a travel experience that will probably cherish for a lifetime; which is enjoying the sunset boat cruise on the Mekong River. Accommodation in Phnom Penh
Day 6: Phnom Penh - Departure
Today is free at leisure until time for transfer to the airport for departure flight.
