Halong Weather

Halong City-a famous destination in Vietnam tours is characterized by its coastal climate. There are 2 distinct seasons, the winter lasts from November to April while the summer lasts from May to October.
Located in the tropical area, Halong has a high average annual radiation of 115.4 kcal / cm². The average temperature is 23,2°C; June is the hottest month of the summer(28,6°C); the coolest month is January (16,7°C). The average humidity is 82.7%.
The average annual rainfall is 1578mm, unevenly distributed according to two seasons. Summer is rainy, accounting for 80 – 85% of the total annual rainfall. Winter is the dry season, with less rain, accounting for about 15 – 20% of the total annual rainfall.
Due to the characteristics of the terrain and geographical location, Halong City has two types of monsoon: northeast monsoon in the winter and southwest monsoon in the summer. Ha Long is an enclosed sea, therefore little affected by the storms, the winds in the storm are usually at level 9 or 10.
