Day 1: Hanoi Arrival

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (D)

Welcome to Hanoi! Upon arrival, our tour guide will pick you up to the hotel where we can relax for the rest of the day. Tonight we will go to a nice restaurant for our welcome dinner together.

Day 2: Hanoi City Tour (B, L)

In the morning we will visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, One Pillar Pagoda, and Ho Chi Minh Museum. Then sightsee the Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam since the 10^th century, then, we stop for our lunch at a fine local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Ethnology Museum, the West Lake area with Quan Thanh Temple and Tran Quoc Pagoda, Ngoc Son Temple and Hoan Kiem Lake. We spend one hour traveling around the Ancient city seeing daily Hanoian Life by cyclo and one more hour watching the Water Puppet show in the Theater on the bank of Hoan Kiem Lake.

Notes: If Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed for maintenance, we will visit Dong Xuan market instead.

Day 3: Hanoi – Hoa Lu & Tam Coc (B, L)

In the morning we depart Hanoi for Tam Coc where we will take a boat to reach the Tam Coc Caves, which consists of the 3 amazing caves with the stream going through. These caves are adorned with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites of different shapes and colors that sparkle like gemstones.

After lunch, we will visit Hoa Lu, the ancient capital with 2 temples for the Kings Dinh and Le, then drive back to Hanoi.

Day 4: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B, L)

This morning we depart Hanoi at around 08.00AM. After driving for more than 3 hours, we arrive in Halong Bay at around 11:30 AM. Then move to a boat to enjoy a delicious, fresh, seafood lunch, while our boat cruises this secluded bay.

During this afternoon time, we will take a visit to the spectacular view of Halong Bay as well as other amazing caves crammed with stalactites and stalagmites. We return to Hanoi in the late afternoon. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 5: Hanoi Departure (B)

Today we will transfer to the airport to take the flight home. The 5-day trip in North Vietnam concludes.
