Ba Be Discovery Tour – 3 Days

There are very interesting local culture activities in the area near by the beautiful Ba Be Lake that have been in existence for a very long time. This tour allows us with a good combination of way of seeing this fascinating area of Vietnam: such as visiting the stunning landscapes of Ba Be Lake and the surrounding regions as well the great tunnel cave of Puong, boat riding on the Nang River , especially a trip to the market of Cao Thuong that held only 6 times a month, here it is less touristy and free of hassle, in addition there will be trekking along buffalos trails to see the ethnic village of Cam, we will stay overnight in a little hamlet on the banks of the Nang River, this will give you a chance to view the scene of local people trading forestry and farm productions on the waterfront wharf.

Full Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Ba Be (Overnight in Cho Ra) (L, D)

Site visited: short walk to villages to see local daily life of ethnic people
We depart from hotel in Hanoi at 8 AM, travel along National Road Number 3 to Thai Nguyen, arrival at the Town of Bac Kan for have lunch. We then continue riding to Ba Be, on the way to guest house we will stop couple time for enjoy strolling in villages, it is nice to stretch our legs and breath the fresh air of the beautiful everlasting green landscape of mountains. Arrival to Cho Ra around 4:00 PM, overnight in guest house.

Day 2: Cho Ra – Cao Thuong market – Dau Dang Village (B, L, D)

Pack everything up, check out of the guest house. We get on the boat to enjoy riding on the Nang River, cruising through the beautiful grotto of Poung, following this we go ashore; we spend 20 minutes trekking to visit the local Market of Cao Thuong.

Please note:
– You should prepare a several spare camera memory card for shooting many beautiful moments.
– The Cao Thuong market only gathers in certain days in a month and based on day: 4, 6, 14, 16, 24, and 26 of the lunar month. Please tell us your intended travel date so we can assist you better.
– If you the market is off on the day you are there. We will do the walking in the area instead.

Afterward leaving this market we continue trekking along buffalo trails to see the village of Cam, the villages of the Zao ethnic people, here will also be lunch break. We spend the afternoon trekking to the lower village of Cam Ha; around 5 pm we arrival at the little hamlet of Dau Dang by the Nang River, where we stay overnight, quite and peaceful mountains landscape. When the night gradually darkens that would be the moment to enjoy, relax, and have a drink while overlooking the river. (We will spend overnight in local house with clean toilet and accepted facility).

Day 3: Ba Be Lake – Hanoi (B, L)

After breakfast we get back on the boat; enjoy cruising on Ba Be Lake, here there is a great chance for sightseeing this beautiful national park. The boat trip finishes at Pac Ngoi wharf and we go on the shore. Now we will be heading back to Hanoi by another way, via Bang Lung, Dinh Hoa; lunch in Thai Nguyen and our trip is over at the hotel around 5 PM.
