Note: Visa: Customers will need two passport size photographs and US$30 at Wattay Airport, Vientiane; Friendship Bridge, Vientiane; and Luang Prabang Airport. Foreign tourists are generally admitted to Laos for 15 days with a visa on arrival or for 30 days with a visa issued at a Lao embassy. A Laos TOURIST visa is usually issued for a SINGLE entry within three months from the date of issue for a period of stay not to exceed 30 days. The visa may be extended in Laos for a further 15 days. Passport must have at least six months validity remaining, and one blank visa page in order for the visa to be issued. Itinerary in Details:
Day 1 Arrive Vientiane Upon your arrival we will be greeted and transferred to your hotel in Vientiane. Then we will have a short orientation tour. Stroll around the city taking a look at the mix of architectural styles, sit to watch the sun set over the Mekong River and later in the evening enjoy just watching the Lao people relaxing. Day 2 Vientiane - the World Heritage City of Luang Prabang Our day begins with our visit to the major sights of the capital: The oldest wat - Wat Sisaket, the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, That Luang Stupa we will stop for you to take some photographs of the imposing Patuxay Monument – the “Victory Gate”. We will also have time to visit Talat Sao, Vientiane’s main market. After that we take a drive to a beautiful waterfall in natural surroundings. Then you will return to the city in the late evening to watch the sunset at Wat Siphouthabath. Today Breakfast included
Day 3 Luang Prabang and Pak Ou Cave After breakfast, you visit the city’s oldest temple Wat Visoun, the shrine at Wat Mai, Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground. We take a boat for our upstream journey on the Mekong River to the mysterious Pak Ou cave .On the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai – a village making the traditional Lao drinks: rice wine. On our return, we visit some villages, the former royal temple and the nearby Sackarine Cave. Then take a short drive to Ban Phanom well known for its hand weaving. Today Breakfast included
Day 4 Departure In the early morning we participate in the daily early morning ritual when groups of saffron-clad monks carrying bowls are given offerings from the local people, including the ubiquitous sticky rice. We then visit the former royal palace, now the National Museum. Before your transfer for your departure at either the airport or the boat pier there is time for a visit to the central market, which should not be missed. Today Breakfast included
