This trip takes you from Hanoi to Saigon within 9 days only. To maximize the time spent touring, we fly between some highlights. This trip covers most of the main attractions in Vietnam including three world heritages site in Vietnam.

DETAIL ITINERARY:
Day 1 Hanoi Upon arrival at the airport, we will be picked up and transferred to our hotel. Tonight, we will dine at one of the fine restaurants in town. Today dinner included
Day 2 Hanoi - Ha Long bay In the morning, we depart for Ha Long Bay where we will take a private junk for a 5 hour boat journey around the majestic, secluded bay, now designated a World Heritage site. We will pass Dog islet, Cock fighting islet, Turtle islet and many more, stopping en route to visit the Dau Go and Thien Cung caves. A delicious, fresh seafood lunch is served on board. Upon disembarkation, we will return to our Hanoi hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Today breakfast and lunch included
Day 3 Hanoi City tour In the morning we visit the Ho Chi Minh complex, which includes His Mausoleum, the Presidential palace, His House on stilts and the One Pillar pagoda. After that we go to the Hanoi Hilton (the prison where American pilots were incarcerated when their aircrafts were brought down during the war) followed by a visit to the Temple of Literature. Next follows an hour tour on a Cyclo (a pedal rickshaw) to see the old quarter. In the evening we enjoy the unique Water Puppet show followed by dinner at a restaurant. Day 4 Hanoi - Fly to Hue We have free time in the morning before we transfer to the airport for a short flight to Hue. Upon arrival, we can look forward to exploring the superb sights of the city. In the afternoon we explore the Citadel, the Imperial City, the Forbidden Purple City and Dong Ba market. Today breakfast included
Day 5 Hue - Hoi An This morning we make our way down to the Perfume river pausing at Thien Mu pagoda (the Heavenly Lady pagoda), which is the best loved pagoda for its architecture in Hue. After that we continue to the Tu Duc tomb. In the afternoon we travel by vehicle to Hoi An along scenic Highway 1A, stopping at Hai Van pass, China beach and Marble village. Tonight we stay at a hotel in Hoi An. Today breakfast included
Day 6 Hoi An Hoian is a quaint riverside town, popular among tourists for its charming architecture, cafes, souvenir and tailor shops. Some of the lovely buildings along the narrow streets have changed very little over the last hundred years or so. It is now listed as a World Heritage site. In the morning we will take a stroll through the narrow, winding streets of the Old Town . Along the way we will visit Fu Kien assembly hall, the 200 year old Tan Ky house, the Japanese covered bridge, the Hoian museum and the handicraft workshops. Today breakfast included
Day 7 Hoi An – Fly to Saigon Transfer in the morning for the early flight to Ho Chi Minh city . Today we tour around the city to visit the highlights of Saigon including Notre Dame Cathedral, the General Post Office, the Formal Presidential Palace, the Museum of War Remnants and Ben Thanh market Today breakfast included
Day 8 Saigon – Cu Chi Tunnel After breakfast we head to the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels, which were dug and used by the "Viet Cong" during the second Indochina war. It is likely that your guide used to be a soldier here and his insight will help us to understand this tragic part of Vietnamese history. Some parts of the tunnel have been dug bigger to accommodate foreigners-more than a touch of irony here! It is also the chance for you to fire some shots from an AK47, the rifle used by the "Viet Cong" during the war. We return to Ho Chi Minh city in the early afternoon. Days 9 Saigon departure We are transferred to the airport for our flight to home. The trip concludes. Today breakfast included
The trip could be reversed to start in Saigon and finish in Hanoi
