DETAIL ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival day (D)
We are welcomed upon arrival at the airport by our tour guide and driver. Check into hotel.
City tour (optional): If our plane lands in the morning, we can enjoy visiting some cultural and historical sites around the city, such as Ngoc Son Temple (Jade Mountain Temple), Temple of Literature and Water Puppet Show or cyclo (rickshaw) ride around the Old Quarter. Welcome dinner in fine Vietnamese cuisine restaurant. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 2 Hanoi - Dong Trieu (B, L, D)
Depart hotel at 8am. Before leaving Hanoi we will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex, including mausoleum, president palace, former home of president Ho Chi Minh, and the One Pillar Pagoda. Afterwards we will head northeast on along Highway One, through the lush region of the Red River Delta. After two hours bus ride, we arrive at Dong Trieu village. There we will be hosted by local people with lunch and dinner, staying overnight in their comfortable home. After lunch and a short rest, we will get on our bikes to enjoy peddling slowly from village to village, across rice paddies and along the river and back to Dong Trieu. There will plenty of time for chatting with locals, and seeing how the rice is being cultivated. Overnight in the Home stay.
Day 3 Cycle from Dong Trieu to Hai Phong (B, L, D)
After fare well our hosts, we continue cycling along a sealed road towards Hai Phong. We use the ferry at Ben Trieu on the way to My Nhan village in the Thuy Nguyen district. This village is sustained mainly by growing betel in plantations that lend an unusual beauty to the countryside. We cycle off the main road paddling around the village for a while then continue to Hai Phong. We will explore Hai Phong by bicycle. Hai Phong is considered a charming colonial city located close to the sea, with well-preserved French architecture, and boulevards of shady flame trees. We will visit the great temple of Hang Kenh. Overnight in the hotel in Hai Phong.
Day 4 Cycle from Hai Phong to Gia Luan/Cat Ba Island (B, L, D)
Leaving the hotel we cycle to the ferry at Cai Vieng. Across the river we continue riding through Cat Hai Island. This is not a tourist destination. Here local people specialize in making fish sauce and have a large salt field. Across the island, another ferry takes us to the island of Cat Ba. Cycling the winding road along the seashore through a part of the national park we arrive at the village of Gia Luan. Overnight on cruise boat anchored off shore. Overnight on Junk Cruise
Day 5 Boat cruise and kayaking in Ha Long Bay (B, L, D)
Buffet breakfast on boat, we transfer to a day boat with private crew and cruise islands where we can explore islands and sea caves by kayak, or just swim in the crystal waters. The kayaks are lightweight and easy to use and in keeping with our safety policies all participants will be issued with water buoyancy vests. We return to Gia Luan dock by boat and kayak back to Ti Top beach with the boat in support. Return to the mother boat for the night. Overnight on Junk Cruise
Day 6 Ha Long Bay - Hanoi (B, L)
Rising to the tranquil beauty of the bay, we have time for an early morning dip followed by breakfast. This morning we continue to move around the bay to find more secluded areas to either swimming or kayaking. The boat will be near us at all times serving as a backup vessel for those that require it. At around midday we will return to the main harbor before transferring to our waiting vehicle for the three hour journey back to Hanoi. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 7 Hanoi flight to Hue (B, L)
We will arrive at Hue in the early morning and transfer to our hotel. After breakfast in the hotel, we will meet our additional crew who will be driving the support vehicles. We will also be introduced to our bicycles, a briefing on how to ride the bikes and how to handle the traffic in Vietnam. We will then set out for our first ride in to visit the old Imperial Citadel, the Forbidden Purple City, and the Imperial Museum before lunch. In the afternoon we cycle to the eccentric Tu Duc tomb. Time permitting; we will then cycle to Thien Mu Pagoda. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 8 Hue - Hoi An (B, L)
We will drive out of the city then cycle on the Highway through some little passes to Lang Co beach where we will have lunch. Afterwards we will drive to the top of the Hai Van Pass, admiring the wonderful views as we ride to Danang, then by bus to the charming old city of Hoi An. In the evening we will take a short walking tour through the old streets of Hoi An. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 9 Hoi An (B)
We will have a short walking tour around Hoi An to visit some of the beauty spots such as the 200 year old Tan Ky House, Phuoc Kien Assembly Hall and the Japanese Bridge. The high quality silk found in Hoi An can be made into clothes by local tailors within a couple of hours. We may even join a local cooking class to learn about some of the sumptuous Vietnamese dishes. There are plenty of distractions to keep you busy during a full day in Hoi An. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 10 Hoi An - Quang Ngai (cycle 65km) (B)
Leaving the charming town behind, we will take a short boat trip to cross the Thu Bon River to Duy Hai village where we start the cycling through many fishing villages on the way along the coast to Ha Lam town that we keep take our bus to Tam Ky town for lunch. After lunch we drive to our hotel in Quang Ngai town and cycle to My Lai massacre which is now a museum of The War Remnants in Quang Ngai province. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 11 Quang Ngai - Kon Tum (70 km) (B)
We start our day with cycling inland along the highway 24 up to Ba To town; Dak Rve and Kon Tum, this road with some challenge for us and there not much traffic on the way. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 12 Kon Tum - Pleiku (45 km) (B)
The new day in central highland is the wonderful days with sunrise and cool weather. Pleiku is our new destination for today which is not far away from Kontum. We start cycle through rubber plantations, exploring and chatting with villagers on the way to Pleiku.

Day 13 Pleiku - Buon Me Thuot ( 80km) (B, L, D)
Today's part-cycle ride is on an excellent road, Highway 14, taking in 197 kms of undulating and scenic upland. We pass by coffee plantations and national parks on our way to the largest town in the Western Highlands, and the capital of Dac Lac Province. Overnight at the hotel in Buon Me Thuot.
Day 14 Buon Me Thuot - Da Lat (B, L)
We leave Buon Me Thuat early in the morning by bus out of the biggest coffee city in Vietnam. Our way today is fantastic road with little traffic. The road is narrow but quite good, the view, with its vast coffee and rubber plantations will make you lose yourself in nature. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 15 Dalat - Mui Ne (B, L)
Today we begin on the bus for a short distance before commencing our cycle ride down the coastal route. This offers wonderful ocean views with a climb on quiet roads through rolling hills and remote Cham villages. After lunch we will continue cycling to Mui Ne. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 17 Mui Ne bus to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) (B)
Today, we are free cycle to relax, after lunch we drive to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
Day 18 Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) - Cu Chi - City tour (B, D)
Early this morning we will travel to the Cu Chi tunnels, about a 2hr drive. These tunnels are part of a network stretching a length of 250km. They enabled resistance fighters to move around unobserved. Visitors can go down into a section of the tunnels which have been maintained. In the afternoon there is free time for last minute shopping in Saigon before leaving Vietnam.

Trip will conclude after breakfast. If you are departing Vietnam today you will receive a transfer to the airport.
