I can’t imagine where is Laos? We will be traveling in Vietnam on 15th October, we plan to spend 1 week in Laos but know nothing about this country. Could you tell me something about Laos position?

    • Stephen

Laos located in Southeast Asia border with 5 countries: Vietnam in the east, Cambodia in the south, Thailand in the west, Myanmar in the northwest and China in the north. Laos terrain is mainly mountainous areas. The major land is covered by forest and unsuitable for agriculture. Laos is under-developing in road network and most of local Laos live in small village in highland and lowland along Mekong River. Visiting Laos, visitors will feel that they are coming back the past time without structures, highways, traffic jams or skyscrapers… Travelers will be surprised by lush green landscapes and stunning scenery that don’t like anywhere else in the world.

The great time to visit Laos is the time between November and January because this is the coolest and driest time in year as well as time for main festivals. In general, you can visit Laos at any time of year. The weather in Laos is hot and humid throughout year. From June to October is the time of wet season, it is rainy during this times. Some roads can be closed because of floods but this time is also great for river travel. The time from February to May is drier but hotter.

  • Laura

You can easily get internet access when traveling around tourist areas but the signal may be weaker in some rural or remote regions of Laos.
